Hearing aid demos

Free in-clinic hearing aid demos

The only way to know whether hearing aids will help is to hear them. Book a complimentary demo and listen to a pair programmed to your own hearing test. No cost, no obligation.

The demo

What happens during our free hearing aid demos

A demo is a listening session with hearing aids set up for you. It usually follows a hearing test, because the aids have to be programmed to your results. If you had your test elsewhere, bring the audiogram. If you have not had one, we do that first, and it is complimentary if you are 55 or over.

During the demo:

  1. We choose a style and a brand based on your test, your budget and what you told us about your lifestyle and your preferences.

  2. We program the hearing aids to your hearing and fit them.

  3. You listen: to us, to background noise, to the television, to a phone call. We can step outside if street noise is what troubles you.

  4. We adjust on the spot.

  5. We talk through what you heard, what it would cost, and what happens next. Then you go home and think about it.

The whole visit takes about an hour.

Listening

What you hear during a demo

People are often surprised by how much they had stopped noticing: the clock, the turn signal, their own footsteps, the ends of words. A good demo is not about volume. It is about clarity, speech standing out from noise, and how natural your own voice sounds.

Expect the first few minutes to feel loud or odd. Your brain has been working with less sound for years and needs a moment to adjust. That is why we take our time in a demo and talk in a normal voice rather than reading a script.

Afterwards

What happens after the demo

There is no decision to make in the room. If you want to go ahead, we order your hearing aids and book a fitting appointment. At the fitting, we program them precisely, check the physical fit, and show you how to use, clean and charge them.

Aftercare is part of the price. Follow-up adjustments, cleaning, checks and reprogramming are included for three years, with no limit on visits, and cleans or checks for as long as you have them.

Common questions about our hearing aid demos

Can I try hearing aids before buying?

Yes. The demo is complimentary, done in the clinic, and programmed to your own hearing test. You listen in real conversation and decide afterwards.

Can I take demo hearing aids home?

Yes, when it is appropriate. At-home trials are an option, and we will tell you at your appointment whether one makes sense for you.

Do I need a hearing test first?

Yes. Hearing aids only provide accurate results when they are set to your hearing. If you have a recent audiogram from another clinic, bring it. Otherwise, we test you first, complimentary if you are 55 or over.

Which brands can I try?

We carry Widex, Signia, ReSound, Starkey, Phonak and Oticon. We start with the one we think suits you best, and you test it in a complimentary demo before you decide.
